bmd certificates ???

Hi, are you able to look at bmd certificates without actually buying? if so where would i go to do this ? thanks |

If by chance you know the church where a couple married, the marriage register entry will be identical to a marriage cert. from GRO. |

It is probably cheaper in most cases to pay the £7 for a cert from GRO online than to travel anywhere to view. |

Also local offices, better when you specify a ref check than the GRO for two reasons. |

I agree with all as above unless you are fortunate enough to have Scots ancestry. Sottish births between 1855 and 1907 are available as are marriages 1855 to 1932 and deaths 1855 to 1957. I'm currently waiting for next year as my great Aunt was born 1908 and my great grandparents died 1958! |

You may be lucky and find BMD certificates transcribed for free on some certificate sharing sites. |

Scottish certs are free to view, though cheaper than buying English ones. |
