What does N/A mean?

I have two of my Irish ancestors and the records also say N/A....I had always thought it meant not available? But am always ready to learn! BC |

It typically means "not available" (i.e., they left it blank) or "not applicable" e.g., "number of years married" asked of single person. |

Could it just be "No Age" meaning the person giving the information didn't know their age? Although it's usually NK for "Not Known". |

I have cencus info from Emerald Ancestors. on it there are two people listed as N/A,instead of an age. |
