Rather than post a link can I suggest a 'google' search on it. A few reviews and lots of details... any comments after reading would certainly help me. I am on 2006 and could be tempted ... for free :)

From what I can see there seems to be a few issues and they are launching now and providing patches later to include additional items people want.

As you can see by a google search, it looks very nice and has some reviews.

If you take a look at this link from the Ancestry site it may answer some of your questions and raise a few more.

I bought the 2008, used it a couple of times, then flung it in the drawer and went back to 2006v16

I registered it which is why they emailed me.

I am just trying 2008 which has better charts and family reports but to be honest i still prefer my 2006 version

Heather Report 5 Sep 2008 08:45

I thought the 2009 was basically an add-on to the rubbish 2008, not a stand alone program - isnt it?

Heather

Heather Report 5 Sep 2008 11:23

Well, in case I get the freebie, Ive got my 2008 cd out of the cupboard and loaded on this pc. NOW it wont let me register it - keeps saying no internet connection. I have disabled all security and tried but it wont let me register. Im beginning to remember why I hated it.

Anyone any suggestions re this prob please.

Just slighly off the main subject, I have FTM 2005 version, is the 2006 version much different to that, and would i benefit in buying 2006?

Heather

Heather Report 5 Sep 2008 15:10

I upgraded from 2005 to the 2006 - I found it had some improved features, particularly the ability to create your own website at the click of a few buttons and then have a home page for your rellies anywhere in the world to visit.

Also it has internet storage back up which has been a great boon for me.
