Not sure whether Scottish rules are different, but my friend is not able to access records of her late father adopted in England. |

I should also note, that the adoptive child is now deceased. I am the adoptive childs daughter. So I am not sure what info will be released. |

You can only access records if you are the adoptee. |

Does anyone know how to research an adoption which happened in 1954 in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have the adoption cert, childs name & birth cert, adoptive & biological parents details. I am hoping their may be some archived case notes somewhere that would give details surrounding the adoption, why/how/reasons etc...Any ideas? |
