I think the name could possibly be Cohnale, that' s what it looks like on next page for son Lawrence. |

Thank you Margaret & Sue! A fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference. I have just realised that the witnesses at John & Bridget Hawkins' marriage were John & Mary Connell, so I guess this is them. |

Still trying to decipher "Qughmogh" in County Wexford. Any suggestions anyone? |

The original image on Ancestry is very faint, which makes it very dificult to read and the practice of drawing a line through an entry doesn't make it any easier. But I have compared the original image to a list of towns in Wexford that I found online http://www.countywexford.com/wexford_wexford.htm and the only name I can find that has a vague resemblance to what is on the original image is Taghmon |

I thought, having looked at the second image, that it started with Quay |

Thank you for looking John & Glitter Baby. Taghmon is definitely a possibility, although I did think the 1st letter looked like a Q. It is quite distinct & doesn't seem to appear anywhere else on the surrounding pages. I also wondered if the last few letters might be "-say" or "-sey", but I just can't seem to match this with any place I know of in Wexford. |
