If they were Catholic and one of them had been divorced could it have been permission to marry in a church? |

My brother, an Anglican, had to get permission to marry his Catholic wife in South Africa. He had also been divorced. |

My great grandparents also had to get permission from the pope to marry, they were 2nd cousins. I found this information from the original entry in Liverpool but it was not on the marriage certificate that I purchased from the GRO. |

Both me and OH had to have our 1st marriages annulled by the pope, we had both been baptised Catholic but had married 1st husband/wife in registry office and C of E church to allow us to marry in Catholic Church even though the church did not "recognise" these marriages we still had to have this done, next year will be our 25th anniversary, would get less for murdering him |
