My computer has ceased going into "standby" automatically and when I try maually (by clicking on standby!) I get the message:- |

Glad to hear it Elizabeth, sometimes just resetting your computer clears a lot of problems, maybe that is what it took. |

There is a bug with the XP print spooler which for some reason MS have failed to fix. Occasionally it will hang up for no apparent reason - the first you usually know about it is when you try and print an nothing comes out. |

Ahhhh...Peter,that is exactly what happened but I had not connected the blank pages coming out of the printer to the overall problem!! |
