Trying to locate birth references - Hefferon

Thank you for that. Just a question though - if registration was not compulsory until 1875 would the children have been christened?

Will look on freeBMD to see if I can find Michael's birth - it would be good to get his birth certificate so as to know his mother's maiden name.

Thank you so much for finding those references and all the census details- I will certainly be ordering some certificates.

I do find it amazing to see the variations on the spelling of the surname though.
