A lot of the parish records don't appear when you do an advanced search because they haven't been transcribed.

You can download all the images though and then have to search through them. There are lots of parishes for Yorkshire.

You have to scroll down to see them all.

I downloaded all the Brodsworth registersand discovered my 5x ggrandmother had remarried, explained why I hadn't been able to find her death.
They also contain a lot of detail, the marriages give the witnesses.

Irene, I have just done what you said and it is fascinating. I am still only on page 481 of 1300 and already found a Directory of Lincoln 1856 and one ofr the Borough of Leeds 1826 with streets, trades and names.

Well worth looking at, thanks

I was going to say something similar to Mick but it is not strictly true.
The full bmds do not appear in an advanced search.I wonder what else does not appear?

I have been a member of Ancestry for quite sometime but only really searched today to find out all the records they have re England.
Go on home page where the historical records are, go down a bit on that page where it states UK census and more collections at the bottom of that list it says see all databases. Click on that and the Ancestry Database Card Catalog comes up. Just put England in keywords - nothing else and then 1.301 pages of english records come up. I was amazed at the information you can search.
This may help someone out there looking for records to search for their ancestors. Good luck Irene
