Hi everyone,

I have the free AVG 7.5 running at the moment, each time I use it I also get a message to say AVG 8 is now available free to download but when you read the small print it says its only for 1 year, what happens after a year, anyone know?

Your PC will self destruct in 30 seconds.

Seriously though, if there is a time limit you will be asked to pay for renewal and if you decline, you will be unable to run the software.

Hi Peter,

Thats what I thought would maybe happen after a year, wonder why they want people to change from the free version now though.
I think some people have already download the new one and just think it will be free forever but its not!!

I recently downloaded the whole Zonealarm Security suite - free for a year - has anti virus, anti spam, anti root - you name it. I went to download the usual free zonealarm firewall and noticed an ad for trialpay - I clicked on it and basically you choose to buy something from one of the advertisers and you get the whole zonelarm suite free. I chose £10 worth of ink from inkclub which I needed and I use inkclub anyway.

Its nice to have everything in one suite, rather than all the bits and bobs I had before and zonelarm suite is top rated.
