I very rarely open my tree to anyone ............ I prefer to send them relevant information AFTER it has been shown that there really is a connection between us.

Hi Grannie--I've learnt the hard way,be very suspicious of those with a few thousand on their tree -....
I've 'met' a couple of genuine folks on here with thousands in their tree --but also far too many have duped me into believing that this is a community, and share whatever info you have!
Ok they open their trees to me---but when I question a relationship ,I somehow never hear from them again !

It is annoying but then this is the down side of the scare mongering that goes on here whenever the question of giving access to trees comes up.

People withdrawing access left right and centre just in case another well meaning member has the audacity to copy something from it.

Hi Grannie!

Whats the olde' saying 'Twice bitten twice shy'
It's happened to most of us!

I suggest viewing asap & visit your Account & click onto where says 'Hide Living Relations' if you haven't done so already. After 1-2 days, [if not closely related] restrict their Viewing of your Tree to others.
Don't freely give permission even if they give it to you without you asking for their permission.
Play safe!

Best Wishes, Nicole

Has anyone else been dumped.Looking through all my permissions to let people see my tree and vice a versa, and found many have shut there tree.Must have taken all they wanted.I dont always get the time straight away to have a good look so come back some time later to find all is closed.Very annoying.
