In WWII was a Trooper a normal soldier? Have found this as an occupation on a wedding certificate 1941 London.

Thanks

Yes a trooper is a army rank as in a private soldier , It goes back to the days of cavalry regiments, but in todays armies and it would be in WW11 it relates to soldiers serving in Armoured regiments ie Tanks etc.
