I access Ancestry on my home pc, my works pc, and my laptop from my lorry, i drive all over the uk for a living and have never had a problem.

Ancestry.co.uk is the Bees Knees! can't reccomend it highly enough.....and if you use it in conjunction with the free BMD sites for post 1901 info......it's better than .........lol

There are also some illustrated guides (screenshots) to using some of the sites with hints and tips about how to search the various records too.

Am I right to assume that if Im searching for a death date/entry of my gg grandad who I assumed died in Pontypridd circa 1926 - well if I cant find him do I just order a random mix of certs that COULD be his?

His wife died in 1926 and they died within 6 months of each other and there is just no sign of him
anywhere - Im 100% certain he died in Pontypridd

This is why Im using all my credits so fast - ive doesnt come up with a match

Ive ordered his wifes death cert to see if she was already widowed

I think your right - I assumed that 50 credits would last for ages but they seem to go so fast

Have I read somewhere that you can only access Ancestory on one computer?

I have to use a tiny laptop for pdf files as my big one is knackered and wont let me open pdf files :o(

Your best bet would be a subscription to Ancestry - I paid £79.95 last year for a year's membership (had been paying £9.95 per month but I decided I might as well go for the year) and you can search pretty much whatever's there.

And it won't matter if the records you look up aren't the person you want - you have got unlimited chances to search.

Most people on here would not advise buying credits.
A subscription to Ancestry would work our cheaper in the end - I learnt the hard way!
I also have a subscription with findmypast, and buy credits on scotlandspeople. Take a look and see what would be best for you.

I'm new to this and have already spent £40 on credits for birth, marriage and death records on genes reunited

Am I better off paying off a one off subscription to access everything on another site as I cant seem to do this on here?

I like Genes reunited as its simple to use but does anybody else recommend any other sites I could use to compliment my searches?
