Mine was playing up last night too. Wouldn't load the images etc.

I keep having problems with it and their flashing adverts seem to slow down the page loading.

Yesterday I was trying to find my grandfather's war records and tried looking at the R names but was getting Bs or something else!

I had three weeks of problems a couple of months back, not loading, no images etc. No one else seemed to have it - after dozens of emails back and forth to ancestry it just seemed to cure itself. I think it something to do with their servers going down now and then.

I have had the same thing last night and this morning. Letting me see the BMD images then just showing me 'the hand'.
Having to log off for a while then trying again............soooooooooooo annoying.

I also had this problem including my web browser freezing until I read a posting on Rootsweb last night about problems with "Norton Confidential Browser Helper Object" within Norton Internet Security
I have since spoken with Norton and they have confirmed that yes there is an issue with "Norton Confidential Browser Helper Object" and "IE7". They tried all sorts of things by operating my pc remotely to get mine working including disabling all my startup programs, changing all my settings for internet explorer etc etc. and proudly said there you go, problem sorted....it wasn't, the problem still occured with everything else disabled. I disconnected from the remote session before they done anymore damage but I had lost all my accounts details and passwords which were stored and have had to reinstall programs and reinstate all my settings which Norton were going to leave as they were, with nothing else working.
The only way I found to get this sorted was to disable "Norton Confidential Browser Helper Object" meaning also that Phishing protection is disabled, but it does work for me. I would of course only disable it when using a site which causes a problem, such as ancestry

This is the extract from the rootsweb site

"I couldn't find the "Norton Confidential Browser Helper Object" anywhere (expecting to find it in my Norton Protection Center) so I did a google search and found lots of message boards describing the same problem.

For others with this problem you find it by going Start/Control Panel/Internet Options/Programs/Manage Add Ons. Then find Norton confidential browser helper in the list [add ons that have been used by internet explorer]

Then click "disable" at the bottom of window where it says "settings."

Then click "OK"

You will then need to restart your computer.

I hope this helps

I also have had problems over the last few days viewing images. Today I thought great I managed to view to births and then it went again and cannot view anything. Ancestry do not reply to messages sent them regarding this.
