Which I,m hitting my head on !

it goes like this
Emily Govier married Joseph Hicks 16th Nov 1901 and had 4 children.
But I cant find anything on her before or after this
married at 20 ..giving me 1880
father Peter Govier ...born 1855 died 1888
Address 19 kensal Road London

I found Peter on the 1881 census BUT NO Emily only Rosey and Florance
I feel without a birth certificate I can be sure this Peter is her father therefore her family
ANY ideas of other places or ways of looking

Yes you have seen this before but gave me leads which later became NOT her family ??

Is it possible that she lied about her age on her marriage certificate. It seems to have been a fairly common practice.

Do you know what Peter's wifes maiden name was to check if she is with grandparents?

Her mother was Ellan but no maiden name ....but I looked at Gambles earlier and Ellan is never with them !

I think the only option left is to find her sisters birth and send for that certificate ...........

Im thinking that considering they married at the end of 1901 you'd think they would of known each other for a bit before hand, so im wondering if Emily is Rose

they can be to far from each other as they are both in the Sub registration district of Kensington Town

Julie ....thats just what I,ve been thinking ...so I,m sending for rose birth certificate as today I found out that Florance died at about 3 years old ....

do you know that IS my great Grandad ...perfect Julie .....and he ran the shop under the flat from the age of 15 when his parents died

I,ve Google earthed them and her addy is still there his has gone but as we know its Notting Hill ...they must have been two mins apart and he would have been found by her coz he worked in the shop .......

have you got the birth certs from any of her children

I foind out that one of mine had bee previously married and I was looking for her under the wrong name.

Another poss is that Peter is actually a stepfather and she has taken his name (or that she's living with a stepfather on teh census using his name and hence not showing as Govier)

Yes Nicola Thats the family ...and its the only census they show up on till 1901 .....
Yes we did think about that ..she may be a step child but then in 1901 Thomas showed up ..hes 25! she says she is 20 on her marriage cert which I have
I then thought .."I must get her birth certificate and thats where it stopped

Nicola .......sorry to be stupid ....but what does the "disability " mean at the bottom of the first part of the entry ?????

I've checked the image for you - usually nothing there but they recorded whether people were blind,deaf and dumb, lunatic or imbecile!

She wasn't listed as any of those!

BUT ....her first child was born"wrong" nothing more was said ............!

And she had her last child in 1916 thats how we re-checked her maiden name ......

It fits really well

The fact that you can find none of them on the 1891 suggests that there is a transcription error. I've had loads of those and they create havoc. GR is quite good at suggetsing alternative names if you look at your front page and type in rose's details it will give you somne clues and then its just a process of elinination!

Right Emily Florence and Rosey are 3 people ....I have PHOTOS!!!!!! they look like us!!

Now I found Rose and Florance with a Charles Eary on the 1901 census so now need anyones birth certificate to get dates and names
