I have an ancestor who was working in Demerara in the late 19th century in quite a resposible position. He died on Poplar railway station of a heart attack brought on by a bout of yellow fever he had contracted the year before. I am very interested to know how he came to be working in the West Indies in that sort of position as his siblings appeared to be manual workers. Any ideas anyone? |

What is his occupation in the last census before going overseas? |
