An Ancestry subscription is MUCH better value than the pay-per-view units purchased on this site. On Ancestry, you get all censuses 1841-1901, including images (even for 1881 - it is the only site that I know that has the 1881 images). You also get all BMD's 1837-2005, Scottish censuses (transcriptions only - not the images unfortunately) plus lots more (WW1 pension records, pallots marriage & baptism indexes, historical British phone directories, etc etc). All this for around £60 per year, which is excellent value. |
