It would not be mentioned on the GRO certificate. However, the parish registers may tell a different tale, depending on the vicar. |

Yes, I guess it would be strange to enter this kind of information onto the cert. The other thing is she is 27 and he is 21 which is interesting. |

well my grt gran married her cousin on her second marriage AND when he died she married his elder bro ,another cousin, who had been previously married to her younger sister.!!! NONE of this info was on either of the two certs |

I think we all have oodles of marriage certificates where the bride was pregnant but I've never seen it mentioned on the certificate. |

Hi, has anyone come across a marriage cert where the wife to be has been pregnant at the time of marriage? Is the fact that she is pregnant entered onto the marriage cert? I have found a marriage cert where I think this might be the case. The woman in question is noted as a spinster, but in brackets there is some text I cannot read. The part I can read says " ..... of John Taylor". The grooms name is John Taylor so it got me to thinking maybe she was pregnant with his child or something and this was entered onto the marriage cert. The missing word looks like it could be "expecting" which doesnt make sense. It also looks like it could say "cousin..." which would be too wierd!! Any ideas anyone? |
