Just a thought - If Emily was aged 9 yrs and Lilian Margaret was aged only 2 yrs when their mother died, then they may have been adopted and known by their adoptive parents surname.

I was going to say I wonder why the father didn't look after them - but I see it was 1914 when the mum died, so maybe dad was off at war?

Have you had a look for them on the marriage index? Just thinking, people with middle initials tend to be easier to pin down than people without them.

I do not know what happened to my fathers sisters and nor did he. So how do I find out about Emily Elsie Reeve Born 1905 West Ham and Lilian Margaret Reeve born Poplar 1912. Their mother died in 1914 after the death of their brother Leslie and were sent away. the parents were Henry and Emily Reeve and they lived Bromley by Bow.
