Had no luck with 1851 or 1861 either

thanks maureen but just wondered if i had missed it i have tried free bmd and familysearch and lancashire online parish records .
will have to send off for marriage cert to find out who his father was at least.
cant find him in 1851/61/ census though and that would be a help

It was not compulsory to register a birth then so you might not find one

i have found a birth for an edward ramsdale but it is 1849 and it doesnt fit in with his ages on the census that have remained constant. also it would have made him 14 when he married.

any help would be great thanks linda x
