I would like some advice please - I have the page and volume numbers from FreeBMD for the death of my gggrandmother but the month differs from the burial record from the Southampton Old Cemetery Records. I would like to order the Death Certificate and would like to know whether I should use the FreeBMD reference numbers. Thanks for your time. |

I had a cousin killed in a car crash. I knew the year and month she died but couldn´t find her death registered at all. Eventually I found it registered two months later, not only it wasn´t the month, it wasn´t the year either as it had overlapped into the next year, also the place of death was different as it was in another county where she had been taken to hospital after the accident. |

My father died in May but his death wasn't registered until July. Because of the circumstances, an Inquest was required, and the death registration could only take place after this had been held. |

Thanks Chica and Peter for your interest, I am so sorry that I didn't develop an interest in this when I was much younger , my old cells need a lot of stimulation! I am also just learning to use a computer. |

It's quite a similar situation with the birth records. I couldn't find myself in the December records having been born on the 14th, but I was in Jan, Feb and March of the next year so was registered quite a bit later than my actual birth. |
