Looking for George William Hart??

Hi

My grandmother's elder half brother, by my great grandmothers first marriage was called George William Hart, born 20 May 1915 in Holborn, London.

His dad died in 1917 during enemy action in WW1. When my great gran remarried she moved up to Durham as her husband was originally from there. When my ggran died in 1930, George was sent back to London.

My mum says that he was a rich banker in London later in life. He was mentioned at my mums 1971 wedding. I have checked all deaths from 1971 to 2005 and not found a likely match as I would like to find if he is still alive.

I did write to one of his cousins but never got a reply. With a pretty common name it is a bit difficult. I checked Passenger Lists up to 1960 and nothing but I dont know how to access later ones.

He'd be 93 now and there must be several George W Harts on the Electoral rolls must there? I am interested in finding him if he is still alive before its too late.

Thanks

Ben

Are you sure he kept the surname Hart and didn't change it to his stepfather's?

Hi Portland Rose

That might be a thought to consider actually. I am sure family members said Hart but he might have changed his name to Musgrave when his mum remarried.

Thanks

Ben
