On Ancestry the page number is unreadable.It's hand written at the bottom of the page....can some kind soul help us please?

I would of said 8 but looking at the 8 for the harrison birth then id ssay not ..but that was looking on Ancestry though

It's an abreviation. It says 2a, see December qtr. 1940.

The birth must have been re-registered in 1940 for some reason. It was possibly because the parents were not married at the time of the original registration.

UPDATE - yes, she was registered originally as Elizabeth A. Harris in the March qtr. of 1937, so the parents must have married afterwards, and then registererd her in her father's name.

Do you have the certificates? It's posssible that the birth was in the early part of the quarter and the marriage later in the same quarter.

Perhaps she was re-registered in her father's name before she had to start school, or for a ration book, or before being evacuated. There could be any number of reasons why they waited a few years before doing it.
