I know a lady on here who is not really computer savvy so not one to check her e-mail regularly. Not only that but the family tree gets put on hold during the summer because she is an avid gardener and spends every waking hour out there.

I have recently joined Genes and a few days later, fell and broke my right arm so have had to put all my work on hold, Just saying there may be reasons other than ignorance why people do not reply. Dont give up on everyone.

i put a post up yesterday saying that one of my contacts had died suddenly on saturday night and i would never had known had their partner not been able to access their emails. i would just have assumed they didnt want to reply or their computer was broken etc.. so there could be lots of genuine reasons why people dont get back in touch

Julie .. I wouldn't worry too much about who don't reply back.
I have quite a few who I think we have some connection but have not heard from them since before Xmas , they were from the hot matches and I have delated them a few days ago , WELL !! It's their loss ..

This weekend I received a message from one of my hot matches i wrote to in august 2007, turns out he's my mum's cousin who lives in NZ, so don't lose hope just keep contacting them and you never know you may get lucky, so far I have 4 connections through hot matches that are very close family

THERE WERE TWO EXCELLENT MATCHES IN HOT MATCHES. I CHECKED THEIR TREES AND YES WE ARE DEF CONNECTED BACK IN THE 1880S. SO WHY DO THEY NOT REPLY TO MY MESSAGES. I GAVE THEM ACCESS TO MY TREE AND EXPLAINED FROM WHOM WE WERE CONNECTED. NOTHING BACK NO REPLY. THAT WAS MONTHS AGO.
