The simple answer to your question is... you can't find out his name.
You can however, contact social services in your area or a post adoption agency (ie After Adoption) and apply for contact. The agency will search for your brother and contact him... he has absolute final say if he wants contact or not. There is a fee for this.
You can also join the Adoption Contact register which is set up by GRO... if your brother has joined he will be notified and given your details.
NORCAP is another agency... they have their own adoption contact register which is more successful than the GRO one.
I have a brother that was adopted and have been waiting years for him to change his mind about contact with me.

I have received a birth cert.of somebody who may be my brother.

Can anybody tell me how on earth I can find out his adopted name.
