I used the website before I went and just searched for my home town, from that I selected a few books that I wanted to look at. I found records for my family from the 1880's showing who was eligible to vote. Also the town's book of rememberance for WW1 which included my GF and a GGU. I also managed to have a quick read at a book about my old school. It's worth keeping searching on the website, but the staff are very helpful. Documents took about an hour to arrive. You can order books on-line in advance, but not sure if you have to be registered first. Don't forget to make sure you have the necessary id for registration. Hope this helps Anne

Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 3,592 Send Message	I am thinking of going to the British Library next week. Please can anyone tell me what I am likely to find there. I have had a quick look at their website but I must be thick because it didn't help me much. Thanks Jane
