	Thanks for the information Kim, I don't think it's boring at all. Some causes of death on 19th century death certificates must baffle even medics. David

	Not really a question ..just if you get this on a death cert ,,, the above relates to Syphilis final stages ... have just received a cert giving this as cause of death 1891 in a lunatic asylum ,Please note , there are upteen mental; illnesses including Parkinsons and post natal depression that will show on a death certificate as the above ... My rellie was an inmate of the infamous Colney Hatch Lunatic asylum in 1891... she died there having given birth to her seventh child I am now going to the National Archives to find the records for her ,, the 100 year rule does not apply ... sorry to be boring but this might be of help to someone ,,, Kim
