http://www.freereg.org.uk/
new records are being added regularly so keep going back.

Also, Google: "( the area you want) parish records".

There are a few areas with online parish clerks, again Google "Online Parish Clerks"

Many thanks for the info i will keep on digging - Dea my search goes from London to Yorkshire there are many people I still have to research before 1837 and am now getting stuck as not knowing their parents names or places of birth is like looking for a needle in a haystack!!!
