Victoria

A real gem - what a wonderful collection.

An observation - which I'm sure you've already noticed. The furniture and the backgrounds are the same in Unknown Lady2 and Unknown child4 - mother & son?

Not that it has anything to do with these photos but if you do like looking at old photos here is a web site full of them, i think they are from America.

I think they will be from the same couple of families. On the first page is one of the unknown ladies and then on the next two pages are my great grandparents - 2 of my great grandma and two of my great grandpa. I think 2 may have been taken on their wedding day. So I presume the album was their family/ friends album. No two photos seem to be of the same person though and the families weren't that big! I also didn't know any of the family lived in Brighton (which is where a couple of them were taken)!

I think they must all date from around the turn of the century - 1890-1906. I'm haven't researched dating photos yet though.

Thanks for taking a look!

Wow you are so lucky to have those photos but i can see why it bothers you as you don't know who they are. Good luck

Have you got any idea of the year they were taken

I think the soldier is a bandsman of the West Yorkshire regiment.
There are specialist sites that will have more info, both on photography and militaria.
Google "cap badges" for a description. The collar 'dogs' are definately horses as is the cap badge.

I doubt he's american. I don't know of any American links. Why would there be greyhounds or dogs on a uniform? Does anyone know?

I can't tell you anything about the man in uniform except that it looks as if there are either hounds or horses on his collar and cap badges.

Hi.
I have added about 35 photos onto a photobucket page. These photos are all from a family album I have but I don't know who any of the people are. Most were taken at photographic studios in Leeds and a couple were taken in Brighton. Please take a look just incase you recognise any of them.

I would also like someone to take a look at the man in uniform and let me know what sort of uniform it is?

I am so frustrated with these photos but I think they are lovely!

The link is

Thanks, Victoria.
