Hi Paul,

Have you found your birth entry ? if so are there any other females with the same details as yours ?
Even if the RC church was involved your birth should be reg, and after 1927 legal adoptions took place so there should be court or adoption records somewhere, maybe you did not have a twin but an older or younger sister.

Hi Paul
If twins are born the time of birth would be on the birth certifacate even if it is a copy ( also if one does not live)

Hi Jane, there doesn't appear to be a time of birth on my birth certificate. It is a copy of the original and not a very good one.

I was adopted in 1943 and have made contact with a brorher I never new existed. From His families recollections it's possible that I may have had a twin sister. I was taken away quickly, in their words, "there was a famlily waiting" to take me.
The girl (my twin) remained with my birth mother for a short while before being taken away by some nuns. I can't find anything in the birth indexes. Because of the involvement of the RC church, is it possible that the birth may be recorded elsewhere?
