Yes I have a copy of his Pensioners Record and the Medal Index card (but just the basic). His Medical Record seems to go on until 1921, maybe that was when it ended.? John

Hi, not very much regarding details.. Both joined the RAMC, one ended up as a corporal they other a private, both were discharged in 1919, one with a pension fund. Which brings on to another question - "How long did a Pension Fund last..(this one was for 8 shillings per week)............Many thanks for your info, it is very much appreciated.. John

Cheers Ian - yes they both were in the same Reg. I asked 'Leslie', (brilliant lady) to do a check on the records, she came up with the dates, but one was missing.. Many thanks, John

Could mean that they joined together, in fact that is the most likely answer, assuming that they were in the same regiment.

Have you tried looking at medal index cards and pension records (TNA and Ancestry respectively)

Question:- if one is trying to find the date of enlistment into the army in WW1 of a particular soldier, how does one go about it..??.
If the date of enlistment for one person is 1913 with a Regimental No. of 1428., Does it mean that a person with a Regimental No. of 1425, joined up before him ?? Or with the Numbers being so close together, can it mean that they both joined up at the same time.. (Both were brothers)... Cheers, John.
