I would like to subscribe to a genealogy magazine each month but there seem to be several on the market and I wondered if anyone could advise me as to the best one available. Thank you

This is a difficult one. Over the years I have subscribed to most of them but have now settled on Your Family Tree.
Can I please suggest that you visit W H Smith and look at the various ones over a period of several months. It all depends on what you feel suits your requirements. They do vary in their approach and coverage.

It might also be worth checking out the Family History Society for the main county you are researching. For instance, members of the Dorset & Somerset FHS get a great quarterly magazine - which I find far more interesting and useful than usual genealogy magazines.

Thanks to you both of you. Joining the local Family History Society next week when I'm in Scotland - so will presumably get their magazine then and I'll certainly have a look now at Your Family Tree when I'm next in WH Smiths - thanks both for your help.

Most of the magazines that are on sale seem to run the same information at the same time, or you find something in one magazine this month will be reproduced in another magazine next month.
“Ancestors” is the best one I have found and I have used all the rest over the years.
