The local archives office would be your best bet.
They usually have a wealth of information in there.

James Stell b. 1735, Seaham Dhm. married Jane Charleton b. 1739 also from Seaham, 21.04.1760 in Whickham, Dhm. I have confirmed this on Whickhm Marriage Index.
The only thing is, I can't find out anything more about this couple, except that they did have six children, (I do have names, births for the children).
I would love to find out more about James and Jane but I can't find anything to give me a start. Could someone please advise me what to do next and where to look?
Many thanks and best wishes,
Denise
