If I believe that my gggf was a twin would his brother / sister automatically be the next number in the gro index? Is this the only way to find out?

I would expect so ....... as long as the twin was born alive. If he/she was stillborn, then there will be no record.

Have you been able to find them on any censuses?

Do you want to put up the name and we can see if we can find them?
