cause of death on a 1873 death certificate

Does anyone know what "post parsem haemorhage syncope" shown as a cause of death means. Not sure if the spelling is correct as very difficult to read. |

Thank you all for your help. I think the baby did survive but his Mum was only 39 when she died having had 10 children, what a hard life they must have had. |

I've also seen it descibed as "flooding" on a d.cert from about that time. That confused us for a while !! |
