Can anyone please help find a marriage.? I have a birth cert for william bertram cane 1895 it says his parents are William cane and Elizabeth cane formerly Walters but i can't find a marriage for them anywhere there are connections with Rotherham, Worcester, and London can anyone see one that may fit Julie

Do you know if he has any siblings - older?

And where were they living when he was born?

They were living in Swinton south Yorkshire. In the 1901 cencus there are two sisters Rose e 1891c born Pontefract and Florence 1893c born Swinton but i can't find either of them also there is a lodger Mary ann Duce her maiden name is Walters she was born in Worcester 1855c. Williams mother Elizabeth is dead but in august of 1901 his father remarried Bertha Adams in rotherham. thanks for your interest Julie

Just checked the image for this William is a soldier, born Bethnal Green - same POB as William Cane in 1901.

The birth certificate maybe right,, and her maiden name was Walters ,but doesnt mean that William Cane married Elizabeth Walters as she too could have been a widow ,therefore Walters may not be the name she married in,just one other. theorey....

Cannot find a death for William Scaife but cannot find him on 1901 census either.

Can't decide whether William Scaife and William Cane are one and the same or whether Elizabeth took up with one of her husband's colleagues.
