His occupation is General Labourer on both the 1891 and 1901 census.

Stephen the father is a Leather Currier on the 1891 and a Currier on the 1901.
I think the female is an error, the age had been recorded in the female column then crossed through and inserted in the male column, however, female was incorrectly written before the occupation.

its a he acctually,his name is Stephen higgins born 1871 Dublin was living in leeds then salford , his father also stephen higgins born 1849 in ireland was a currier that a guy who cuts off the hide of a cow ready for treatment. he worked in a slaughter house in dublin off marrow lane, and presume carried on in salford his wife was ellen kennedy all living in salford in 1901
