Thank you for looking and the suggestion. What makes it more difficult is that the 1851 census says he was born in Marlow Bucks!!!
I'll go and have another look. Thanks again

Thanks to all who have so far suggested where the birth place is for William Stanford on the 1861 census from Surrey, but I still haven't been able to confirm where it is.
I have looked on the Hugh Wallis site for the records for Buckingham and Berkshire and haven't found his birth and there doesn't appear to be any Stanford's b or m in the counties around this time.
Would anyone else be able to re-look at the census and see if they could say where the birthplace was please.

Thanks
Di

Looks like there's a place called Westrop Green in Berkshire. A possibility?

I have looked for the birthplace details on the census 1861 on The Genealogist site for William Stanford b1792 in Richmond, Surrey and it says birth county as Berkshire and Weston as the place. The census address is wrongly transcribed as Hickup's Almshouses instead of Hickeys Almshouses but I can't definitely say that Weston is the birth address and would ask if someone could view it possibly with a better eyesight. With the correct details I may have opened a gate to further family.
I have saved a copy to email to anyone.
Thank you
Di
