Been doing this 18 months now and quite happy to get 6 out of 8 gg parent's lines back a few generations.
But really stuck with the last 2, down to common surnames I suppose so any help most grateful, to get me going again.
Need info on GGrand mother's line and anyone before her. This is what I have:
Hannah Davies born abt 1886 - Father David Davies born abt 1860 (Hannah could have sisters called Catherine (Katie) and Gladys from what my mum recalls)
Hannah married Robert Jones on 11 Mar 1911 at Chester Reg Office.
They went on to have 4 children and lived their married life in Prestatyn North Wales.
Anything most grateful
Susie

It looks as if the 1911 census entry is going to be needed in this case!
If you have an exact address from the marriage certificate you can do a 1911 address look-up request - at a fee of around £45 or so - the census will be more generally available around 2009 ish (phased release, pricing details not yet available?).

Thanks to you all for your look ups, dosn't look like I have a match does it.
Knew this was going to be difficult with a name like Davies.
The witnesses on the wedding cert were W J Mather and Elizabeth Mather.
The address for Hannah on her wedding cert is 28 Prescott Street Hoole.
Does mean I have to look up in the English census ?

Hi Susie,
- a possible W J Mather in 1901? He is an apprentice carpenter (his father also a carpenter).
Name: William J Mather Age: 12 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1889 Relation: Son Father's Name: Robert J Mother's Name: Amelia Gender: Male Where born: Runcorn, Flintshire, Wales Civil Parish: Runcorn Ecclesiastical parish: Holy Trinity Town: Runcorn County/Island: Cheshire Country: England
Registration district: Runcorn Sub-registration district: Runcorn ED, institution, or vessel: 4
Household schedule number: 182 Household Members: Name Age Amelia Mather 43 Florence A Mather 17 Mary E Mather 7 Robert J Mather 48 Robert J T Mather 14 William J Mather 12
I see that Hoole is now a suburb of Chester (north east side), so that does look like England, yes.

btw- by the way (as in, just one of those odd facts which are likely not to be connected, but might be worth keeping just in case for the future...)

Thx for that I've been looking again myself tonight. No Hannah on the 1901 despite the fact she is only abt 15.
I have found the marriage record for David & Rebecca but still can not be certain they are the parents of my Hannah.
Been trying to look at births for Hannah Davies around 1885/6 but of course does not give mothers maiden name, again couldn't be certain unless I order a shed load of certs.
So frustrating !!
I'm not sure where to go now....

HI Susie,
How about finding the electoral roll info for Prescott Street Hoole? I'll see if I can find a library tel no or email for Chester/Hoole.
