(obviously their son is Archibald as well, and Archie Snr. was born in Middlesex, cant decipher where but it says Near London, not Amestard the London.) |

I wonder if Archibald's birthplace given in 1861 was Hampstead, and the enumerator just couldn't understand his accent? |

Kathleen I think you are probably right, he would have said 'amsted'! good thinking. Im sorry Rachel but im stuck with the 1851, cant seem to find any that fit, have tried looking for each of them but no luck. |
