Will do. I'm gonna find out what the local nespaper is - prob the Merthyr Express but there might be one just local to Aberfan - and write straight away.

If you do send a letter to the newspaper, please let us know of any responses you receive?

Thanks Joy, good idea.
Honestly, with a family tree full of Jones, Williams and Davies it's becoming an uphill struggle!!

You could try writing to the local newspaper?

Jones the brake! Brilliant - i love it.

I fear if i ring the local library they will put me in touch with my Uncle who lives in Aberfan and who doesn't remember a thing (i've interrogated him!!)

I might write to the address tho and see if they can pass the letter on to someone - hopefully not forgetful uncle T!
Cheers Gwyn

Lol....I know how hard it can be... I was chasing someone who had a horse-drawn vehicle, "JONES the brake"

I knew which area and contacted the local library and they said they knew someone who could probably help. A few days later I phoned again as requested and they put me in touch with someone who knew the family.

With an actual address you should be well away. Can you also write to the address asking for help....or please would they pass the letter on?

I know that finding a Jones in South Wales is a mission impossible but i'm hoping someone can help.

I know he was known as "Will the Milk" as he was a milkman and i have a photo of him with a horse and cart milk wagon which says "Roberts & Son, Aberfan"

When the photo was taken his address was 20, Pleasant View, Aberfan.

The only other thing i know for definate about him is that he had a brother called Harold.

I believe he lived well into his nineties and died about ten years ago.

Any tips on how i can find out more?
