Andrew & Joey's deaths are on the Perth cemetery website www.mcb.wa.gov.au:

ANDREW ADIE HOPE GB00003877
55 15/05/1956 KALAMUNDA
GUILDFORD CEMETERY GENERAL B 0123

JOEY LOGAN HOPE KC00138915
99 29/06/1999 KALAMUNDA
GUILDFORD CEMETERY GENERAL B 0123

If you contact the cemetery they will be able to tell you if anyone else is buried with them, who paid for the plot, etc. You should also apply for Andrew's death cert - the Australian certs give details of all children of the deceased, with their ages and whether still alive at the time or not. The website for WA certs is: www.justice.wa.gov.au. You wouldn't be able to get Joey's death cert however, as there's a 25-year restriction.

This looks like son William's burial, also on the MCB website. You could also get his death cert to see if he had children:

WILLIAM HOPE KC00064755
57 30/08/1980 KALAMUNDA

One other Hope who died in Kalamunda (possibly a daughter or d-in-law?):

JEAN MARGARET HOPE KC00132803
63 16/02/1998 KALAMUNDA
KARRAKATTA CEMETERY RC SECTION 6 0242

This family also gets a mention on the WA Welcome Walls (http://welcomewalls.museum.wa.gov.au):

HOPE, Andrew & Joey

Welcome Walls Panel: 5
Origin: Loanhead Scotland
Departed from: Southampton
Arrived Fremantle on: 22 February 1928
Aboard: Borda
Accompanied by: Son William (4 years old)
First settled in: Kalamunda
Original occupation: Coal Miner & Houswife
Occupation in Australia: Butcher & Houswife

The WelcomeWalls entry above has a reference number, MH01 :322-323 - so maybe you could contact them to find out more (the Welcome Walls entries are submitted by descendants of immigrants, so maybe there are some still around!).

By the way, in case you didn't have it, Andrew & Joey married in Midlothian, Scotland in 1923 (from www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk).

Cheers
Richard

Hi Linni, In case no-one else can help the West Australian State Library has an 'Ask a Librarian' service (query form on-line). They will check their records inc electoral rolls & newspaper death notices for you -for family names. The 'West Australian' newspaper has a 'Can You Help' page every Monday.
