I sure hope that somehwere there is a navel buff who can help me. I have a relation who shows up as being killed 1939-1948. He is on a list called naval officers, war deaths. Now I understand that HMS President is like HMS Excellent in Portsmouth...it is staionary/building etc. So my questions are how could he have been killed on the President which "land locked" in London...or did it get bomed in WW2. and secondly how can I find out precisely how he was killed??? |

Colin, I got the list off findmypast and it has no specific date. His name was John Joseph O'Connor and he was Ty. Actg. Capt. RNR on the President 1. So that means he was an acting captain but I can go no further. Can you help me further??? Thanks Lesley |
