Just an idea - have you thought Ellen's maiden name may be Neville and that John Smith was actually born John Neville? |

There's a John Smith in 1891 who was born 1873, Harbury. He's listed as a boarder in Newcastle on Tyne but it's actually an army barracks. He's a gunner, Royal Artillery. |

census or BMD. I know he existed because he's my husbands direct blood ancestor! I also have his marriage cert, and he'd with his wife and kids on the 1901 census. I'm ok at sorting out other peoples trees, but when its my own I have no ideas, am at a standstill. |
