Have you got Vista? I seem to remember James Legon saying something about people having trouble getting in with that?

Can you try just clicking on a link:

http://www.parishregister.com/message.html

DOH, this site doesnt do links does it.

No Heather but you can cut and paste into the browser.

Regarding Vista !!!! (Naughty words drat drat drat - I hate it!)

You can tell, I now have Vista but I just went into the site you mentioned with no problems so we can't blame 'IT' for this one !

Hi Dea, yes I know you can cut and paste but that would be the same as Chris entering the addy in the first place. I wondered if a link would work when the addy wouldnt.

Oh dear Chris, cant think of what to suggest. I know James who owns the site had probs when Vista first came out with people not being able to access it but it looks like those have been sorted as Dea got in ok.

Im sure it must be something really simple - no doubt one of the techis will come along later - :) Have you got just IE7 as a browser? May be it would be worth you downloading Mozilla Firefox aswell.

Hi Thanks everyone
I am on XP have not got Vista.
I used to be able to get on the site but for some reason I just cant anymore!
I just get loads of black lines that is if it lets me in.
It normally times out.

Hi Chris, you may have your security settings set too high, or you may have blocked the cookies from the site.

Rosalind (who is going to look at the site now!)

Yes Chris may be you need to clear the cookies on your puter - if James has upgraded the site - which he has because he had a bad problem with a hacker a few months back - then may be your cookies are wrong for the upgraded one? (guessing here :))

Hi Thanks
I have deleted the cookie for Parish register but still no joy. Computer bod at work suggested disc cleanup - still no joy.
The title now comes up but the rest of the page does not load.
I think I will just have to use it at work.
Cant think of any other thing to do.
Dont think I have blocked any cookies.
Thanks for all your help
Chris
