I have a marriage certificate from 1914. The bride has given her address as a church in Kensington. Any suggestions why she might have done this please?

Thanks

It is probably the parish name of where they were residing.....Unless it actually has the word Church in the address!

I have alot of certs for old London like that, for example St. Marylebone....Not very helpful when you are hoping it will help in a census search :)))

It doesn't say Church in the address, I just took it to be the Church. She's not been helpful at all has she! Not even on electoral register, oh well...

Thanks again

Are you trying to trace her ancestry?

Or was it only her place of residence that you wanted to pinpoint?

It's a bit of both. I'm not absolutely sure I've got the right person. I was hoping that if she was living with her family I might get some clues to confirm she was the correct person I'm looking for.

Is there a father's name on the cert?

Does it help - or hinder - your search?

The father's name doesn't make it any easier at all!

It's too complicated to explain, but thanks.
