hi

I set up my family tree on my computer some time ago and imported it into GR. However my computer is now playing up and I lost my tree. Does anyone know if it is possible to save the tree i have on GR and reimport back into my computer as a GEDcom file.

Many thanks for your help

If you export from any site as a GEDCOM to your pc you really need family history software to read the file.

As it stands a GED file can be read with a word processor programme but trying to understand the relationships etc even with a small file is nearly impossible.

I'll bump a thread i made about GEDCOM files for you.

Click on "import/export gedcom" at the bottom of this page, and Genes will e-mail you a gedcom which you can import into Family Historian.
