Web address please, I have Trojan virus and my Adaware has shut down I need to instal it again. Also can anyone tell me about Ad-Aware Alert do you have to register to use it and if so how much does it cost. I was just on Genes Reunited yesterday, nothing else and this Trojan Virus is in my computer.

I just can't update my Ad-Aware at all, so trying to download it again but don't have addy.

So I see, I wasn't on my computer until last night, just logged into GR thats the only thing I was on, didn't know there were threads about it. Just logged on again today and run Adaware virus notice came up and knocked out my Adaware altogether.

Don't panic if you are finding you can't update Ad Aware SE!! There is a good reason.

AdAware SE is now obsolete and has been replaced by AdAware 2007.

Personally I find this more recent version a lot less user-friendly than its presecessor. Unfortunately all updates for SE were discontinued at the end of 2007 - it took me until January to wonder why what was going on.

Both totally reliable sites but I know that there was talk of Lavasoft not doing free downloads, so I've given you the other one that's ok to use.

Betty, if I remember correctly, the install wizard guides you through and does give the option of uninstalling SE as part of the process. It sorts it all for you, though you may possibly need to delete the obsolete shortcut from your desktop.

The new version should overwrite the old one but if not, go to 'start' then 'control panel' then choose 'add or remove programs'. If you see the old version listed there, just click on the 'remove' button.

Will wait until download gets to that option, its takes a few minutes to download, I was just worried I would do more harm than good really, don't know much about computer things.
