First of all Google...free genealogy websites....there are quite a few.

The site most of us use on here is Ancestry which seems expensive at about £80 per year (but that's only just over £1.50p per week) and once you get started it's invaluable.

People on here will do look-ups for you as long as you give as much information about the ancestors you are looking for as you can.

freebmd is really useful.
And familysearch.org which is invaluable for pre 1837 baptisms and marriages, and has the 1881 census.....all free.

Then, when you get really hooked...pay to go on ancestry!

Just started out other than on here which other websites would you recommend where I can get information from?
