Thomas Reid - Publican in Glasgow c.1920

Dear Daryl,
I have a Thomas Reid on my family tree, but my Thomas is much much older.
My Thomas Reid married Margaret Aitchison in the early 1800 and had a son Call Francis Thomas Reid who was born on the 17/2/1820. Francis Thomas married To Emma Archer 11/10/1850 in Cape Town South Africa during the Kaffir war they had 3 children Frederick, Emma and Edward They went back to Scotland 1858-1859. Then Francis Thomas joined the 5th foot regiment in Northumberland and from there onwards he went to the Island of Mauritius and died there on the 20/11/1878 leaving a de facto wife with 5 Mauritian Children I am one of the great grand child. Hope this is what we are all looking for.

Here you will find an entry against 70Elderslie Street - Reid T - Spirit Merchant.

Today there is still a pub trading there called Orwells

Hi,

Does anyone have a Thomas Reid in their tree? He was born in Glasgow on 2nd Oct 1874, his parents were William (Wireworker) & Elizabeth nee Lauder. He died in 1951. He ran a pub in 80 Elderslie St, Glasgow in 1920. Does anyone know what it was called ?
